"GREAT SCOTT MARTY! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?? "

I didn't look at my Email yesterday, but my niece Amber sent this to us.

Yesterday was the day that Marty McFly arrived 25 years in the future, after hitting 88 MPH in the Delorian, in 1985. Wow, another event that makes me feel even older!

Yeah, Part-timer Steve and I were just talking about the hoverboard.

Hell, I'm still waiting for my hoverCAR, we were supposed to have those 10 years ago.....

Aside from the Star Trek communicators (cell phones) I really feel like my childhood idea of "the future" is a bit of a let down. Up until about 20 I really thought we'd be living like The Jetson's by now.

Thanks for reminding us of the significance.

Movies always make the mistake of not projecting the years far enough ahead of the progress or sometimes the decay they predict. 2001 and 2010 come to mind. Didn't one of the Terminator movies show the aftermath of a Nuke in the late 90's?
